About the HSES PTA
In Fall of 2021, following the chaos of the COVID crisis and its impact on the school community as well as the students’ educational and social/emotional development, three HSES parents got together to re-ignite the PTA of HSES.
These parents organized and recruited a core group of PTA members, created a 501c3, ran regular meetings and events, and developed collaborative relationships with Principal DeFlorio, her administrative team and teaching staff. What we have achieved
Since our founding in 2022, we raised over $68,000—funding enrichment programs for our students, field trips, revitalizing the garden rooftop and so much more. We forged important relationships with our schools community supporters, including Council Member Gale Brewer. Here’s a snapshot of our PTA achievements:
HSES Voter Registration drive—we signed up over 300 students to vote!
We brought bake sales back to HSES—bringing sugary joy to all the students and teachers!
